I am looking to find a job with PR news wire. I eventually want to get into editing and have done journalism for a big local newspaper. On the side I am an editor for a smaller newspaper that is good, but they just do not have as far of a reach. The reason I want to get into PR news wire is because I can probably get a good editing job there for AP press releases.
If you do not know what an AP news wire like PR news wire is, it takes press releases from all over and distributes them to journalists and newspapers. Since there is so much journalism worldwide, I feel like there should be plenty of room editing for them.
So my question to other bloggers viewing this is, what is the correct approach in getting an editing job with PR news wire? If you have experience with a news wire then that would be more helpful.
I have collected content from their site for journalism purposes. For the reason of them being a good reputable source that I find content I like on it, I want to work for them most of all. They do not have much rubbish when I want to find content worth looking at. The press releases are divided up according to categories well. If anyone has ever used their site, then they know exactly what I am talking about.
Being an editor is a great step for any writer to take and I believe taking that step with PR news wire is my best option. All help and ideas are welcome! I am open to pretty much everything
